Developing confidence and creativity. Inspire your subject leaders to inspire your children

It's always an absolute pleasure to support the development of future leaders but also leaders of the very subjects you would like to light fires for in your schools....and not just English either!
Lighting Creative fires can help schools develop this role and empower teachers to share their vision and passion across the whole school.
Leading a subject, particularly a core subject in this data driven age, is very very different to when I was a young teacher (back in Victorian days!). I became the Art co-ordinator first. This comprised of me tidying the Art cupboard and drawing up a list of our resources much of which centred around 53 bottles of cerise ready mix which the school secretary ordered every year without ever checking on stocks! I was also, almost ceremoniously handed the 'mantle' of taking on making crackers to sell at the Christmas fayre. This meant running cracker club during the Autumn term when my rather tricky class would hunt round for any snaps during the afternoon and pull them apart in front of nervous pupil's faces! I then actually had a parent complain the following year saying they hadn't made the appropriate bang-probably because my own class had taken said pulls out beforehand! I thought I'd be able to forget about cracker club when the fayre was over but it wasn't to be. When we went out for the Christmas meal from then on everybody handed me all the cracker contents for the next year. I NEVER did it again and we didn't order cerise powder paint either!!
So anyway enough of reminiscing about Victorian subject leading. Nowadays rightly so subject leaders need to develop their own vision for their subject
Lighting creative fires can help-give you support, TIME , encouragement, ideas (and share any blank formats tried and tested over 20+years) so you can:
GO FORTH AND CO-ORDINATE WITH CONFIDENCE.

"Thank you Sarah for a brilliant day - my staff are re-energised and full of ideas! The support you gave individual staff has given them the confidence to take on their subject leader roles with enthusiasm and they are approaching this task with professionalism and dedication.
We really appreciated your calm approach which allowed us time for reflection - something we often forget to do in this job!
A very successful day was had by all - you can always tell it went well when staff are still talking about it days later!
Thank you!"
