I just have this feeling, particularly in the present climate and location, that the tide needs to turn. We need change. It's something I'm hearing on my travels, it's the topic we're all talking about. I'm sensing a sadness about the way things are going but a tiredness too. Most worryingly I'm sensing fear about doing something we know is right for our children. Fear stopping people from getting together and turning discussion into positive movement.
We've been listening to this song at Joy cottage-it kind of gets into your brain like lots of good songs do but the words.....
Wonder if they resonate with anybody out there in education: words from a children's musical story. About children-RE VOLT ING...maybe it's time for us too?
"Just because you find that life's not fair, it
doesn't mean that you just have to grin and bear it.
If you always take it on the chin and wear it
nothing will change!
Just because I find myself in this story,
It doesn't mean that everything is written for me.
If I think the ending is fixed already,
I might as well be saying
I think that it's OK!
And that's not right!"
